In addition to the points described here, all points outlined in the other supplied product manuals must also be checked.
The decision as to whether the wire rope hoist is in a flawless condition is the sole responsibility of the examiner. If any defects are found, they must be repaired. The examiner decides whether the wire rope hoist needs to undergo inspection again afterwards.
If locally applicable regulations specify further tests, these are likewise to be carried out.
Additionally, at least the following points must be checked:
Inspect the wire rope. See Inspecting the wire rope.
Check the load hook and bottom block. See Checking the load hook and bottom
block.
Check the edge protection on the bottom block (visual
inspection).
Inspect the fixed point crosshead. See Inspecting the fixed point
crosshead.
Inspect the deflection roller crosshead. See Inspecting the deflection
roller crosshead.
Inspect the cable guide. See Inspecting the cable guide.
Check the fixed point. See Checking the fixed point.
Inspect the end clamps on the cable drum. The end clamps must be
installed and must not exhibit any heavy damage.
Check the wheel diameters. See Checking the diameter of the
wheels.
Check the wear on the guide rollers. See Checking the wear on the guide
rollers.
Check the wheel flange wear of the wheels on the wire rope hoist. See
Inspecting the
wheel flange wear.
Check the supporting wheels. See Checking the supporting wheels.
Check the lift-off prevention device. See Checking the lift-off prevention
device.
Check the condition of the safety buffer. See Checking the safety buffers.
Check the brake on the hoist drive or travel drive.
