Scope of the test

The qualified person inspecting the HB system is responsible for the type and scope of the inspection.

Overview: inspecting the HB system

In addition to the points described here, all points outlined in the other supplied product manuals must also be checked.

The decision as to whether the HB system is in a perfect condition may only be made by the examiner. Any inadequacies, if found, must be eliminated. The examiner decides whether the HB system will then need to be inspected again.

If locally applicable regulations specify further tests, these are likewise to be carried out.

Additionally, at least the following points must be checked:

*  Check HB profile rails on HB crane runway and on the crane girder (visual inspection). No cracks or similar damage may be visible.

*  Inspect bolts and SL safety clips. See Inspecting bolts and SL safety clips.

*  Inspect trolleys. See Inspecting trolleys.

*  Inspect cross bar HB10/HB11. See Check cross bar HB10/HB11.

*  Inspect the HBF drive. See Inspecting HBF drives.

*  Only for HBF drive: inspect reference gap, brake lining thickness and O-rings. See Inspecting the brake on the drive.

*  Inspect end caps. See Inspecting end caps.

*  Inspect craneway suspensions. See Inspecting craneway suspensions.

*  Inspect rubber mounting. See Inspecting the rubber mounting.

*  Inspect profile joints. See Inspecting profile joints.

*  Inspect conductor system. See Inspecting the conductor system.

*  With EHB-X and ZHB-X: check screws on head. See Checking the screws on the head.
