Installation overview

The following sections show how the single girder wall travelling crane is installed.

─     Where single girder wall travelling cranes are delivered disassembled, the end carriages are affixed first. The vertical end carriage is tightened to the correct tightening torque. The horizontal end carriages, however, are initially only hand-tightened in order to be able to align the crane on the crane track. See Fixing the end carriages onto the main girder .

─     The crane travel drives are then connected on the ground. See Connecting the crane travel drivesˮ.

─     The connection cables are then connected to the crane panels on the ground. See Laying the connection cableˮ.

─     The safety buffers are then installed on the ground (see Installing the safety buffersˮ) and, if necessary, the clamping buffers are installed (see Installing the clamping bufferˮ).

─     Afterwards, the towing arm of the mobile control is assembled. See Assembling the towing arm of the mobile control.

─     Damage to paintwork is repaired (see Repairing damage to paintworkˮ) and the operating direction signs are attached (see Attaching operating direction signsˮ).

─     The crane is then raised onto the crane track, e.g. with a lorry-mounted crane or an existing overhead travelling crane. See Lifting the single girder wall travelling crane onto the crane trackˮ.

─     The mains power supply is then installed on the crane track and connected. See Installing the mains power carrying fork (MCF)ˮ.

─     The cross-type limit switch is then installed as crane travel limit switch. See Installing the cross-type limit switch.

─     As a final step the screws of the horizontal end carriages are tightened with the correct tightening torque. See Fastening the end carriages tightlyˮ.
