Replacing the guide roller and rubber spring element

 

If one of the guide rollers is damaged or is not able to be adjusted correctly, then the guide roller needs to be replaced.

If the rubber spring element is damaged, then it needs to be replaced.

The pictures show the procedure on a GM 1000 modular wire rope hoist. The procedure on GM 800 does not differ significantly from this.

 

 

Disassembling the bracket

Circlip

 

*   Remove the circlip (2x).

Wheel carrier

*   Pull the bracket off the wheel carrier.

 

 

Replacing the guide roller

If the guide roller needs to be replaced:

Bearing bolt

Safety plate

Bracket

*   Remove the SL safety clip.

*   Remove the safety plate from the bearing bolt by pulling it downwards.

*   Pull the bearing bolt upwards out of the bracket.

*   Remove the guide roller from the bracket.

 

 

*   Install the new guide roller in the bracket in reverse order.

*   Install the bracket on the wheel carrier in reverse order.

*   Adjust the guide rollers. See Adjusting the guide rollers.

 

 

Replacing the rubber spring element

If the rubber spring elements needs to be replaced:

*   Push the rubber spring element out of the bracket.

 

 

Installing the bracket and a new rubber spring element

*   Fit a new rubber spring element onto the stud on the wheel carrier.

*   Lubricate the rubber spring element slightly to make installation easier.

Lubricant: “High temperature paste PBC 1574”. For details, see Lubricants.

*   Fit the bracket onto the stud and rubber spring element and push it on.

*   Attach the circlips (2x).
