The pictures show the procedure on a GM 1000 modular wire rope hoist. The procedure on GM 800 does not differ significantly from this.

   Pull off the cover.

●   This provides access to the cable drum and cable guide.

   Inspect the cable guide. The plastic parts must not be cracked, be deformed or have scratched areas caused by the wire rope.

   If the cable guide is damaged: Replace the cable guide. See Replacing the wire rope, cable guide, rope socket and rope wedge.

   Re-attach the cover.
