The qualified person inspecting the crane is responsible for the type and scope of the test.
In addition to the points described here, all points outlined in the other supplied product manuals must also be checked.
The decision as to whether the crane is in perfect condition may be made only by the person inspecting the crane. Any inadequacies, if found, must be eliminated. The examiner decides whether the crane has to be tested again afterward.
If locally applicable regulations specify further tests, these are likewise to be carried out.
Additionally, at least the following points must be checked:
Inspect the light barriers
of the obstacle detection sensor. They must be clean and undamaged. If they are
not, clean and repair them.
Check the setting of the
obstacle detection sensor. The light barriers must detect an obstacle at a
distance of ‘braking distance + 0.5 metres’. If they do not, readjust the
light barriers. See ʺAdjusting
the obstacle detection sensorʺ.
Check the signal lamps.
They must be clean and undamaged. If they are not, clean and repair them.
Check the wheels on the
lower end carriage. They must be clean and undamaged. If they are, replace the
wheels.
Only for wheels with a
plastic coating: The plastic coating may not be heavily worn, cracked or
damaged. Otherwise, replace the wheel.
Only for crane travel
directly on floor of building: The building floor must be smooth, even and able
to withstand the travel of wheels without damage. If this is not the case (e.g.
crumbly, pitted floors), the building floor must be renovated.
Check the braking distance
of the crane in the limit switch range. See ʺChecking the braking distanceʺ.
Check the wear on the
guide rollers. See ʺChecking the wear on the guide
rollersʺ.
Check the diameter of the
wheels. See ʺChecking the diameter of the
wheelsʺ.
Inspect the condition of
the safety buffer on the upper end carriage. See ʺInspecting the
condition of the safety buffer on the upper end carriageʺ.
Inspect the portal
supports. See ʺInspecting the portal supportʺ.
Check the danger zone next
to the lower end carriage. See ʺChecking the danger zone of the
craneʺ.
