The field bus coupler evaluates the input signals (e.g. from pendant control) and transmits it as digital data to the PLC.
A faulty field bus coupler can be removed and replaced as an individual module. For this purpose, it is connected with plug-in connections or terminal blocks.
The field bus coupler is controlled by the central PLC via a device address. The device address is automatically or manually set.
The device address is a digital unique address of each CAN bus device in the CAN bus network, via which the PLC and the respective CAN bus device exchange data. Each CAN bus device must have its own unique device address. If two CAN bus devices inadvertently have the same device address there will be a conflict and a fault is displayed.
The bit rate is the speed with which the data is exchanged.
Switch off the crane. See Switching off the crane.
Remove connection cables from faulty field bus coupler.
Uninstalling faulty field bus coupler.
On the new field bus coupler:
Flap |
Unit adjustment wheel |
Decimal place adjustment wheel |
Bit rate adjustment wheel |
Open flap.
Read correct device address in the wiring diagram.
Set alignment wheel for device address (above) to the correct device address.
─ The left adjustment wheel is for the decimal place. Decimal places are possible from 0 to 12.
─ The right adjustment wheel is for the unit place. Units from 0 to 9 are possible.
Set adjustment wheel for the bit rate (below) to position 4 (250 KB/s).
Install new field bus coupler.
Plug in connection cables.
Switch the crane on.
● As the device address and bit rate are correctly set, the PLC finds the components at the expected device address.
