Checking the lift-off prevention device

The lift-off prevention device for a wire rope hoist with a hoist drive GM 5000 or GM 6000 is shown below. The process of checking a wire rope hoist with a GM 7000  with a reeving 10/2 or 12/2 does not differ significantly from this.

Checking the lift-off prevention device

*   Check the lift-off prevention device for wear and damage.

If the lift-off prevention device is damaged, it must be replaced. In this case, check the wire rope hoist for further damage because the wire rope hoist may have bounced on the trolley track.

*   Test the firm seating of the lift-off prevention device with a light hammer tap.

If the rib nuts on the lift-off prevention device are loose, they must be tightened.
