Releasing the friction clutch on the slewing gear

 

Only with a slewing drive

 

The friction clutch on the slewing gear can be released to allow the jib arm to be rotated by hand. This is necessary to be able to align the jib crane and to be able to rotate the jib crane by hand, if for example there is a power failure or the slewing motor is defective.

*   Loosen the lock nut.

*   Mark the exact position of the hexagon head screw on the slewing gear.

*   Undo the hexagon head screw.

●   The jib arm can now be moved freely.

 

If necessary, the hexagon head screw can be removed completely. It can be easily screwed back in later.

 

 

 

 

Tightening the friction clutch

Because the friction clutch setting is highly sensitive, the hexagon head screw should be screwed back into its original position as exactly as possible using the marking made beforehand.

 

*   Screw in the hexagon head screw with the lock nut up to the marking.

*   Adjust the slewing gear. See Adjusting the slewing gear overrun.

*   Tighten the locknut.
