Installing the slewing gear unit on the jib arm

The slewing gear unit (for a slewing drive, and manual slewing) is now installed on the jib arm.

 

Only with sizes 273, 323, 355, 406, 457

 

This section only applies for pillars with a diameter of 273, 323, 355, 406 or 457. The jib bracket has an angled lower edge, onto which the slewing gear unit is installed.

The figure shows the installation of a slewing gear unit with a slewing drive. The installation of a slewing gear unit without a slewing drive is, essentially, no different.

*    Screw the slewing gear unit in place using fillister-head screws and washers.

*    Lift the slewing gear unit under the jib bracket.

*    Front: screw the slewing gear unit in place using fillister-head screws and washers.

*    Rear: screw the axle for the supporting rolls in place: put the washer on, screw on the hexagonal nut, screw on the lock nut.
