Inspecting the slewing gear overrun

Only with a slewing drive

*    Suspend a load on the load hook which corresponds to the maximum load capacity of the crane.

*    Move the trolley to the jib tip.

*    Slew the crane until the jib arm has reached the maximum slewing speed.

*    Let go of the slewing button.

●   The friction clutch in the slewing gear brakes the jib arm.

*    The jib arm must come to a standstill in the right position, and not present a hazard for any persons.

This will depend on the conditions in the building and the on-site hazard analysis.

*    If the jib arm brakes too suddenly or too little, adjust the slewing gear. See Adjusting the slewing gear overrun.
