The threaded rods must be individually shortened or lengthened.
The suspension height of the entire HB crane installation is specified in the planning documents. | |
The figures show an M16 threaded rod. The work steps for an M20 threaded rod do not essentially differ. |
Shorten the threaded rod to the
required length.
Deburr the sawed edge.
Mark a new hole for the spring cotter
6 mm away from the sawed edge.
If the HB crane runway is suspended parallel or at a right angle to the ceiling-mounted bracket: the new hole must be exactly aligned to the existing hole at the other end of the threaded rod.
If the HB crane runway is suspended in a different angle to the ceiling-mounted bracket: the new hole must lie exactly in the required angle at the other end of the threaded rod.
Drill a hole (diameter 4 mm) in
the threaded rod at the marked spot.
If necessary, e.g. to compensate for inaccuracies, the hole in the threaded rod can be drilled with a diameter of 5 mm.
Lengthening threaded rods:
Coupling |
| |
Spring cotter |
Threaded rod |
Screw the coupling (both sides with
right-hand thread) on the threaded rods.
Screw the second threaded rod in the
coupling.
Turn the coupling so that the borehole
is visible.
Insert spring cotters (2x).
