─ Switch off the mains switch. Secure the switch to ensure that it cannot be switch back on accidentally.
─ Open fuse isolating link in the crane panel. Secure fuse isolating link with padlock so that it cannot be accidentally closed again.
─ Use suitable lifting platforms and fall protection equipment.
─ Adequately cordon off the operating range around the lifting platform.
─ Switch off other cranes on the same crane track or cranes that are above or below the crane to be serviced. Secure the switches to ensure they cannot be turned back on accidentally. Other cranes could otherwise overturn the lifting platform or hit the crane to be serviced.
─ Notify personnel in the area that maintenance work will be performed.
─ Only trained electricians should work on the crane electrical system!
─ Even after the emergency stop button has been pressed, life-threatening high voltages are still present in the crane control and in the trolley control.
These safety instructions apply specifically to the wire rope hoist:
─ Danger of crushing! Fingers could be crushed on the guide rollers, wheels, on the cable drum, deflection roller and ribbed drive belt should the wire rope hoist make unforeseen movements, or if work is performed inattentively. Secure the wire rope hoist. Work with caution!
