The installation of the wire rope hoist to a crane is intended as part of the ABUS Crane Kit. The other components of the crane are stipulated by the Crane Kit. The supporting structure and set-up of the crane (main girder or I-beam) were previously coordinated as part of a technical authorisation process.

The following requirements must be met in order for the wire rope hoist to be installed:

Among other things, these points must be coordinated as part of the technical authorisation process:

─     The welded box girder or I-beam that the wire rope hoist travels on, must have a straight lower flange or parallel flange.

─     The running surface that the wheels of the wire rope hoist travel on must be free of paint or other coatings.

─     The width of the lower flange or flange can be 300 mm, 350 mm or 400 mm.

─     The wire rope hoist is intended for an ABUControl electrical control.

─     The trolley power supply must be executed as ABUPowerline energy chain or ABUS festoon cable system.
