Installing the clamping buffer

The figures show the installation of a clamping buffer on the flange of an overhead travelling crane ELV. The installation on a lower flange on an overhead travelling crane ELK is very similar.

If the clamping buffers are not installed on the flange or the lower flange:

Fillister-head screw

Rubber buffer

Clamping buffer

*   Rotate the clamping buffer so that the rubber buffer points towards the trolley.

*   Push the clamping buffer onto the flange or lower flange.

*   Lay one side of the clamping buffer flat and tighten the fillister-head screw until hand-tight.

Clamping claw

Horizontal fillister-head screw

*   With the horizontal fillister-head screw, pull the other side of the clamping buffer onto the flange or lower flange.

*   Align the clamping buffer so that both clamping claws are lying flat on the flange or lower flange.

*   Also ensure that the clamping buffer has a clearance of at least 5 mm to the profile end or to other components.

*   Tighten the horizontal fillister-head screw. Tighten to 80 Nm.

*   Tighten both vertical fillister-head screws. 120 Nm.

Rubber buffer

*   Push the rubber buffer down until it lies against the flange or lower flange.
