The semi-goliath crane is intended for comprehensive transport of loads within the maximum load capacity in a defined operating range.

─     The semi-goliath crane travels in an operating range along a building wall. Attached to the building wall is a crane track, on which the semi-goliath crane runs. On the other side, the semi-goliath crane runs directly on the building floor or on a crane track which is recessed in the floor.

─     Loads are only permitted to be lifted and moved with a hoist. In particular, no persons or loads may be transported on the lower end carriage.

─     The semi-goliath crane is permitted to come into contact with other cranes or with the end stopper of the crane track (hitting the safety buffer) at a slow speed. This will not damage it. However, the semi-goliath crane should not impact other cranes or the crane track end stopper at high speeds. This is ensured by the redundantly connected crane travel limit switch and redundant anti-collision devices.

─     The semi-goliath crane may not be used outdoors either long-term or short-term.
