Check the following points before beginning work with the crane. If there is any damage or problems arise, do not work with the crane; inform coworkers and supervisors.

─     Are the light barriers of the obstacle detection sensor clean and in order?

─     Are the signal lamps clean and in order?

─     Is the danger zone on the building floor free of obstacles?

─     Is the danger zone on the building floor clean (e.g. no shavings, rubbish, ...)?

Test the following before beginning work:

    Slowly run the crane forward.

●   The signal lamp designated for “crane travel forward” on the portal support flashes.

    Cover the first of the two light barriers for “crane travel forward”.

●   The crane halts.

●   The signal lamp goes dark.

    Repeat the test for the second of the two light barriers.

    Repeat the entire test for “Crane travel back”.
