Installing the mains power carrying fork

The mains power carrying fork is mounted on the side panel of a trolley. The side the mains power carrying fork is to be mounted on is specified in the planning documents. It pulls the electrical cables for the power supply (festoon cable system or conductor system) parallel to the trolley.

Mounting the horizontal square tube

HF/EF mounting

Fillister-head screws

*    Screw the HF/EF mounting onto the side panel with fillister-head screws M8x10 (2x) until hand-tight.

Horizontal square tube

Threaded bracket

*    Shorten the horizontal square tube as required. It must not touch the power supply cable.

*    Mount the horizontal square tube on the HF/EF mounting using the threaded bracket.

Mounting the vertical square tube

Depending on the power supply and the height of the I-beam, it may be necessary to mount an additional vertical square tube.

Vertical square tube

Pipe clamp

Ribbed end cap

*    Slide the pipe clamp loosely onto the horizontal square tube.

*    Insert the vertical square tube.

*    Shorten the square tube as required.

*    Screw the hexagon head screws hand-tight.

*    Insert ribbed end caps in all open square tubes.

Only with festoon cable system on the I-beam

This work step only applies if a festoon cable system is to be installed as the mains power supply.

Fitting a towing chain

The towing chain is fitted to the horizontal or vertical square tube.

Rounded head screw

Dowel

*    Insert the dowel in the square tube.

*    Tighten the rounded head screw hand-tight.

Fillister-head screw

Towing chain

*    Insert the towing chain in the dowel.

*    Screw the towing chain with fillister-head screw and hexagonal nut hand-tight.

Locknut

Towing chain

*    Screw the locknut off the first cable carrier.

*    Fit the towing chain on the screw.

*    Tighten the locknut.
