The slack rope detection prevents the wire rope from being unwound further when setting down the load or the bottom block. Lowering is halted when the measured load on the load hook falls below a set value. Without slack-rope detection, the wire rope could continue to be unwound from the cable drum and would hang loosely and remain so, and when being wound again onto the cable drum it might not have the proper position and pretension.
A load lifting attachment (e.g. crosshead) can be taken into account for the load measured on the load hook by subtracting its weight from the measured load. The minimum load can be set in KranOS. If the load display was set to zero with the "Tare" function, this is not however taken into account for the slack-rope detection.
For this work step, access from a laptop or tablet computer to KranOS is necessary. The user "Abnahme" (commissioning) (user level ‚[2]) or "Service" (user level [1]) must be logged in.
