In normal operation, ABUControl begins the brake phase of the hoist drive shortly before the switching point of the top / bottom hoist limiter. ABUControl individually calculates at which point the brake phase begins each time, depending on the current lifting speed. If the load hook travels upwards quickly, the brake phase begins earlier. If the load hook travels upwards slowly, the brake phase begins later.
Immediately before the hoist limiter switching point, the load hook only travels at slow lifting speed and continues to travels at slow lifting speed until the switching point is activated and the load hook stops. Normally, this is only a short stretch (a few centimetres).
However, if the switching point on the hoist limit switch is changed, for example, ABUControl does not yet recognise the resulting new end position and the new beginning of the brake phase. Due to this, it can happen that the load hook travels very far (if the switching point was significantly changed) only at slow lifting speed.
In such cases, the point to which the load hook only travels at slow lifting speed (end of the brake phase) can be temporarily changed. As soon as the switching point of the hoist limiter is activated, this manual change can however be overwritten so that the brake phase ends immediately before the hoist limiter switching point.
For this work step, access from a laptop or tablet computer to KranOS is necessary. The user "Abnahme" (commissioning) (user level ‚[2]) must be logged in.
The process described here only changes (in KranOS) the end position of the brake phase of ABUControl temporarily. The hoist limiter switching point is not changed because of this.

User "Abnahme" (commissioning) à "Hoist" à "Hoist calibration" |
Log in as user "Abnahme" (commissioning) (user level [2]) in KranOS. See Connecting laptop or tablet computer with ABUControl, page .
Select the desired hoist (e.g. Hoist 1) in the main menu.
● The window for the requested hoist appears.
Click on the "Hoist calibration" menu item in the "Settings" menu (gear wheel on yellow background).
Input field for wire length, "Hoist limiter Top drive 1" |
Input field for wire length, "Hoist limiter Bottom drive 1" |
"Actual value" button |
|
● The "Hoist calibration" window appears.
In the input fields of the wire length, enter at which ones the load hook is to stop (the brake phase ends).
or
Move the load hook to the desired position and click on the "Actual value" button under the respective input field.
─ The wire length (length of the uncoiled wire between cable drum and fixed point) is entered in the input fields. The hook position is not input!
─ The wire length must be input separately for drive 1 and 2 (at twin hoist).
Click on the "Write PLC" button.
● The set values are saved.
During lifting and lowering:
● ABUControl begins the brake phase of the hoist drive shortly before the set values. The point at which the brake phase begins is calculated by ABUControl individually each time, depending on the current lifting speed.
During the next travel to the top/bottom hoist limiter switching point:
● The previous setting is overwritten.
● Now ABUControl brakes the hoist drive again, so that the load hook moves immediately before the hoist limiter switching point only with slow lifting speed.
