Basic calibration of the load sensor [2]

If the fixed point crosshead with load sensor or a single load sensor on the fixed point crosshead is replaced, the load sensor must undergo the basic calibration again. This calibration is a basic procedure has nothing to do with the calibration of the load measuring system with an increased test load, rather it represents the basic reference point for all load measurements.

After the basic calibration of the load sensor, the load measuring system must also be re-calibrated with an increased test load.

For a load measuring system with measurement bolt, the measurement bolt does not require a basic calibration. However, the calibration of the load measuring system with an increased test load is also necessary with a measurement bolt.

For this work step, access from a laptop or tablet computer to KranOS is necessary. The user "Abnahme" (commissioning) (user level ‚[2]) must be logged in.

Opening hoist calibration

Overview: Navigation in KranOS

User "Abnahme" (commissioning) à "Hoist" à "Hoist calibration"

* Log in as user "Abnahme" (commissioning) (user level [2]) in KranOS. See Connecting laptop or tablet computer with ABUControl, page  .

* Select the desired hoist (e.g. Hoist 1) in the main menu.

●   The window for the requested hoist appears.

* Click on the "Hoist calibration" menu item in the "Settings" menu (gear wheel on yellow background).

Basic calibration of the load sensor

The area in the right of the "Hoist calibration" window is used for the basic calibration. This work step is necessary if the fixed point crosshead or the load sensor was exchanged.

"Calibrating load sensor" button

●   The "Hoist calibration" window appears.

* Click the "Calibrating load sensor" button.

"Perform calibration" button

●   A confirmation prompt appears.

* Click the "Perform calibration" button.

●   The "Calibrating load sensor" button's background turns green.

●   The calibration mode is activated.

* Switch off the crane at the circuit isolator or mains switch.

* Wait 60 seconds.

* Switch the crane on again.

●   ABUControl will restart.

●   The load sensor will additionally be calibrated during the restart.

Calibrating the load measuring system with an increased test load

After the basic calibration of the load sensor, the load measuring system must also be re-calibrated with an increased test load.

* Calibrate the load measuring system again with an increased test load. See Calibrating the load measuring system with an increased test load [2].
